this just happened - it's pretty incredible:
C: mommy i want to play with the tap
Me: what?
C: the TAHP.
Me: the tent? what?
C: the T - A - P TAP.
Me: you mean the tent??
C: yes.
okay - so he didn't spell the right object.... but he spelled what he was saying??!??!? I think he's still 2.5, unless he's been secretly doing kindergarten by correspondence.
wow, Eleanor does the same thing. We always spell out stuff so she doesn't know what we are talking about and the other day she said, "I want my YMCA", but what she meant was her pacifier that we call her nunny and spell NUNNY. And she confused the spelling of where we go to work out. so funny.
